Hair Loss Today
Hair loss often comes with negative connotations, stereotypes, and self-consciousness. But it is a lot more common than many of us realize. As a wig company, we‘re uniquely aware of the volume of hair loss that exists in the world, whether for medical, health, or even unknown reasons, and we’re glad to see that it’s becoming normalized and publicized through the media and through popular bloggers.
Recently, Good Morning America did a feature on Ricki Lake opening up about her hair loss and how it has affected her life. This story brought great light to hair loss and the effects it can have, but also on how common it is. Popular lifestyle blogger, Dani Austin, also joined in the conversation and was featured Nationally and locally in her home of Dallas to talk about her own hair loss. It’s definitely a topic worth talking about.
So, Hair loss doesn’t just happen to men, or to chemo patients. It’s something that millions of American struggle with. According to The Hair Society, 35 million men and 21 million women suffer from hair loss.
