A Complete Guide on Clip in Hair Extensions in 2023
May 12, 2023
Everyone wants to have gorgeous hair. However, such hair won’t last long. Many of us will experience hair thinning at some point as part of aging. Fortunately, there are clip in hair extensions that can do the trick of concealing the thinning of your hair. To know more about them, make sure to continue reading.
What are Clip In Hair Extensions?
To add more volume most extensions come with more than 1 piece of various hair wefts. They are attached manually on the top of every hair weft.
What are the Types of Clip In Hair Extensions?
There are two major types available on the market:
- PU-Weft. The clips are sewn on the weft directly. These extensions lay flat against your scalp because one piece is 50% thinner than lace-weft. This type can’t be dyed because it’s water-proof.
- Lace-Weft. It’s made with sewn-on hair weft. The hair is sewn like a curtain. You may choose this option if you want to dye them.
How do the Extensions Stay On?
The clips have silicone pads. They are soft and they can provide a better grip to avoid them from slipping. If you have fine hair, the silicon pads can protect your hair strand from being damaged by the metal clip.
What Clip In Hair Extensions to Use for Short Hair?
To pick the right extensions, here are some things to consider:
- Hair length. Your hair needs to be at least 3 to 4 inches long. The clips ins must be applied under the hairline.
- Color. If you can’t find the exact color of your natural hair, opt to buy a shade lighter than your natural hair then dye the extensions later on to get the exact shade.
- Weight. You may require more hair to mask the blunt ends which can be heavier.
How to Buy Clip In Hair Extensions for Thin Hair?
- Don’t choose heavy hair extensions. They don’t do you any good. Instead, opt for a set that weighs around 120 grams. PU clip-in hair is more suitable for this situation. You won’t feel uncomfortable when you wear it as it adds volume and length to your natural hair.
- Choose an extension with an invisible wire. It works like a headband. It secures the hair without using glue.
Can You Curl These Hair Extensions?
There are different ways to curl them. One is the use of curling iron. You can also use hair straighter to give you bigger and thicker curls. However, you can also use flexi rods if you don’t want to use heat on the hair. Snail rollers and hair rollers can also be used.
What Hairstyles You Can Achieve with These Hair Extensions?
A high bun is the most common option. It makes you look sexier and more attractive. Braided bun and half-knot are also wonderful options.
